The rumours on the street are true... for the first time in their almost four-year long relationship history, ginger boyfriend Scott and fashion police girlfriend Mya, will be traveling to the sunshine state of Florida! Returning to first person... read on to find out the contents of my suitcase, as well as the contents of my boyfriends (only because there is a 50lb weight limit on each suitcase & he has promised me some prime real-estate in his).

Item #1: Mid-Thigh Shorts

One article of clothing that I don't feel I wore enough last summer was shorts... specifically, the mid-length kind. Don't get me wrong, I love a good pair of daisy dukes, but for modesty's sake, on this family vacay, I will be pulling out the good ol' bermudas! As for styling these bad boys, I tend to prefer a more 'page boy' inspired short! My favourite pair, a linen, brown, bermuda short, belonged to my Aunt and are vintage Essence. I intend on styling them with my Adidas sambas (pink ribbon laces of course), and potentially, a white tank top, for an element of simplicity.

The Levi's 501 mid-thigh jean shorts are another great addition to anyone's wardrobe, and suitcase for vacation! These shorts are super versatile, and can be dressed up with a blazer and kitten heels, or down with a vintage graphic T (or with anything, in whatever which-way you like). I'm just excited to get to put mine to use at all!

Item #2: Sundresses! And lots of them!

Finally! An excuse to put to use all of the cute sundresses I have been cultivating via the thrift, my mum's closet and on one shocking occasion... a retail store! As mentioned in my previous post, I intend on wearing lot of pastel pinks and lace this spring, and will definitely be doing so in Florida! In fact, just the other day when online shopping in class (as one does) I found the prettiest pink sundress from Aritzia that I am dying to style. An impulse buy forsure, but once you see the insta pics, I'm sure my purchase will be deemed justifiable!

Item #3: Bikinis

In the spirit of honesty, I will admit that bikini's can be a tough wear for me, as they tend to be for many people of all shapes and sizes. While slapping on a bikini to go to the beach/pool has never been an easy feat, I am going to try my best not to let my insecurities ruin my fun! About two years ago, I found the brand @heatworldwide on Depop, and have been drooling over their handmade bathers ever since. A few weeks ago I finally pulled the trigger on the forest green bikini I had been eyeing, and am totally obsessed with the results. First and foremost, the founder of the brand is an absolute doll, and was so kind and helpful. I will continue to recommend her bikinis to anyone who will listen! She also included a few extra items in my package, of which I cannot wait to style in Florida.

The few other bathers I am packing in my over stuffed suitcase are all my mum's, vintage from the 90's. The quality of these bikinis is truly amazing to me and I can't wait to lounge around in them once again!

Item #4: Kitten Heels

Last but certainly not least... kitten heals!!! Now that I have gotten a pedicure, it's time to dust off those open-toes, just before our impending Saturday departure! I have decided to bring three pairs of kitten heels with me... a black, open-toe, guess moment, with a buckle appliqué, as well as a simple cream coloured pair, and my personal favourite, the silver pointed toes I just acquired last week! One look in particular I have planned with these shiny silver shoes (try and say that 5x fast), involves my favourite baggy light-washed jeans, as well as a pink, pin-striped button down. It gives an element of 'sophisticated costal granddaughter' while simultaneously maintaining an element of comfort! I cannot wait for the follow up blog post, in which I will discus all of the outfits I have curated specifically for this vacation!

Thank's so much for reading along on my quest to stay under the 50 lb suitcase weight limit! If you've made it this far, please feel free to leave your email & subscribe to my blog, as well as comment if their is anything you'd like to hear me discuss! Thanks bunches, Mya <3
