Summer 2024 is on the horizon, with past trend resurgences and new style inspiration spreading like wildfire! Read on to experience my take on the impending summer’s style inspo, including trends such as gingham, leopard print, althlesiure, and maximalist accessorizing!

Outfit #1: Leopard & Gingham Combined… Oh My!

I don’t know if anyone actually got that Wizard of Oz reference, but I thought it was pretty clever. Anywho, if you hadn’t guessed, leopard and gingham are back like they never left (tbh i don’t think they ever did), and I couldn’t be happier!! As you can tell from the outfit pairing to the left, I am particularly enjoying mixing these two patterns together. I love how this look gives both playful and elevated, which is exactly the direction I’m hoping to take my personal style in this summer. This outfit in particular is definately very accessory heavy, however, mixing the scarf element with the chunky plastic bangles and sunnies, just felt right! I cannot wait to wear some variation of this outfit come summertime.

Outfit #2 ‘Gianni’ Blouse & Athlesiure Bottoms

Ah this second outfit pairing… I couldn’t resist throwing the leopard print background in. I have become completely obsessed with the ‘Gianni’ style blouses, paired with an oversized athlesiure or jean bottom. Can you blame me really? Especially in the warmer months of summer, the athlesiure shorts will make for a comfy but stylish combo. Giving cool and sporty, but simultaneously making it clear that thought and effort were put into the look. Another element of this outfit that I’m really loving for my summer style is the pops of cherry red! That colour honestly goes with everything, making it hard to resist doing exactly that.

Outfit #3: Capris and Kitten Heels

One of my favourite outfits I wore last summer in NYC was very similar to the third look I put together. I’m a big fan of how the capris to kitten heels ratio extenuates one’s calf muscles, giving the legs a longer appearance. To go with these funky capris, I chose an equally funky baby tee with a bunny graphic that says “NO”. It is a full sentence after all. To accessorize this look, I chose to continue the burgundy theme to match the capris and kitten heels, adding in a tie-knot handel shoulder bag. As you can probably tell, I have been super into accessory heavy, maximalist looks! To conclude this edit, I continued on the maximalist train, adding a puka shell necklace and sunnies to bring the overall vibe together, making it perfect for the 2024 summer season.

Outfit #4: Athlesiure Srikes Again!

I saved the best look for last (in my opinion). How could you not love this fit?!! Once again, I’m back with the athlesiure, but this time, I mixed in a sequin (leopard print… duh) micro short, a basic black high-neck tank, and ballet flats. I really love how the simplicity of the top and shoes allow for the zip-up and shorts to take centre stage. In my opinion, the timeless adidas three stripes can be dressed up or down with ease, also seen in the above look, paired with the ‘Gianni’ blouse. This fit could be taken from day to night in an instant, just lose the jacket and accessorize!

As the the classic Canadian summer weather continues to ramp up, I am excited to start planning and thrifting my summer wardrobe. The above outfits are perfect examples of style pairings I’ll be recreating ASAP! Can’t wait to share my take on them with you all on insta and tiktok… stay tuned <3
